Comment:  The Johnson Ridge Observatory and Education Center is in the center of this picture, (clearly visible in the full sized image). The closest visitor center to the mountain, it is approximately 5 miles from the crater. Ed, Scott and Steven visited the center in 1995. Considering the number of cars in the parking lot, surely someone there was looking at the mountain taking pictures of that small plane circling the mountain. To bad we have no way of getting a copy of one of those pictures.
